ABOUT US

Varlion was founded in Argentina in June 1993. A year after its creation, the brand's founder Félix Regalia, seeing that most brands manufactured in two factories and had similar moulds and identical constructions, decided to start designing his own racket models and set up his own factory to differentiate his manufacturing methods from the competition, prioritising and seeking exclusivity, higher performance and quality.

Due to the difficulties of the Argentine economy and the local padel market at the time, Varlion began exporting rackets mainly to Spain and Brazil from 1995 to 1999. These were attractive to Spanish padel brands and international tennis brands, for whom it designed and manufactured high-end models used by their professionals, paddles that were the image for those brands.

In 1999, Varlion moved to Spain, setting up a new factory and regaining distribution of the brand there, which had been sold through a distributor since 1995.

Was the first to use new technologies and software in the design of moulds, to use new materials such as carbon fabric in the core (which they said would not work), and thus began a growth that positioned Varlion from 2000 onwards as the best product for its innovation, design, quality and performance.

By 2003, Varlion had become the market leader in sales, and began the design and development of textiles and footwear, becoming in a few years the first comprehensive padel brand, supplying pro players, coaches and amateurs with all the products necessary for playing padel with the highest level of design, quality and performance, on a par with the major international sports brands.

In 2007, new facilities were inaugurated in the Technology Park of the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, Spain, in a 3,000 m2 building designed by the founder of Varlion, distributed between offices, a design department, a factory and a warehouse.

In 2008, a diversification project was launched with two sports fashion lines inspired by polo and motorsport, particularly the history of F1. This inspiration came from the brand's founder, who had close ties to the world of motorsport his family tradition and was born near Argentine cities that were pioneers in the training of polo players and horses.

The combination of these three sports led us to create an exclusive Varlion store concept, with 17 stores, both owned and franchised in Spain. The local and European financial and real state crisis prevented this project from going international and it was put on hold.

The growth achieved in the Spanish padel market, the most important in the world, led Varlion to cross the borders of this country, achieving a very important international projection within the slow but steady growth of padel worldwide. We were the first brand to market our products through our website in 2010 to reach all padel fans and players around the world. Varlion was present in every country where padel was played.

At the peak of the market in 2013, we launched rackets with F-1 technology with the introduction of the diffuser, visible carbon fabric on the face, real rough textures, fluorescent colours that were not in fashion at the time, and we increased our overwhelming dominance.  It should be noted that the best PRO players did not play with Varlion at that time, because the investment was made in research, innovation, design, and our own factory. In other words, in what a consumer buys.

Our strength and supremacy is clearly due to our products, with their original, innovative and exclusive design, developed and manufactured in the best factories in the world, we teach to the factories how we want each product even their experience. And also to our 30 years of experience manufacturing our own padel rackets, something that professionals, coaches and amateur players value.

As with all companies, we had an unstable period from 2017 until Covid-19, when we launched huge developments such as the PRISMA, SLICE and RADIO frames. Then in 2023/24  internal betrayals forced Felix Regalia to change course and objectives.

In 2025, under a new project called ‘The Legacy’ with the creation of the new group  Varlion GmbH in Sarnen (Owbalden) Switzerland, it plans to recover distribution and sales in the padel market, which it has never ceased to lead in terms of products since 1996, and to introduce Varlion into other racket sports to give those players the evolution it gave to padel players.

In 2026, we will revolutionise both paddles and, consequently, the Pickleball and Beach Tennis. In 2027, we will evolve the tennis racket and modernise the sport, and in 2028 we will do the same for Badminton, Squash and Ping Pong, making Varlion The Future Leader of Paddle and Racket sports.

To top off the changes, in 2025 we created REGA, ‘the AMG of Mercedes’, the hyper product that surpasses the best premium offerings you can find in each product category, through creativity, design, innovation, exclusivity and quality.
